Dr. Karlinsky is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She was fortunate to have trained with Dr. Richard McNally, a world-renowned researcher and scholar in the area of anxiety disorders, with whom Dr. Karlinsky mastered the use of ERP (exposure plus response prevention) in the treatment of OCD.

Upon completion of her Ph.D. in 1993, Dr. Karlinsky worked in private practice at the Eating Management Center in Cleveland, where she treated patients with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, compulsive overeating, as well as overlapping diagnoses of depression and anxiety. 

After relocating to Florida and sending her youngest off to kindergarten, Dr. Karlinsky opened her private practice in Lake Mary Florida, in 2007. Dr. Karlinsky has since expanded her research and training to the area of emotions; how they are made, and their impact on relationships. This study and practice approach leads to real and lasting change for individuals, their partners and families.

Dr. Karlinsky is invested in the growth and training of new therapists. It is her belief that the clinical training and education that new graduates bring to a practice is priceless. By working in conjunction with one another, Dr. Karlinsky is able to offer supervision and expertise, and the associates are able to offer the most current approaches and research findings in the field.

As a result of this collaboration, Heathrow Psychology is able to offer clients the opportunity to work with an associate working under the direct supervision of Dr. Karlinsky, for a lesser fee. Dr. Karlinsky has found this arrangement to be very effective, as the client is able to get customized care that he or she may not have otherwise been able to have access to.
